Believe it or not, I used to work in the auto industry at General Motors! One of my first assignments was on regen braking and hybrids. I still like to keep up on the latest automotive info and found a couple of books very helpful. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions I’m always here to help.

The first one I recommend focuses on the very technical aspects of the overall system and “teaches students the knowledge and skills they need to effectively maintain, diagnose, and repair braking systems”

Another great book to learn a lot of basic fundamentals and skills is called the “Fundamentals of Automotive Technology, Second Edition AND Student Workbook” – this is hard to find though so if you can snag a copy make sure you hold onto it for years to come!

The last one is a reprint of a classic that has been in the industry since 1908!! This book covers all the basics and details of “dynamics, hydraulics, hydrostatics, pneumatics, steam engines, mill and other gearing, presses, horology, and miscellaneous machinery”
